Family . . .

Wow it’s been a while since I’ve been able to take a few minutes and get a blog post out!  And I can’t think of a better way to start back up again than to show some family portraits I took over Christmas break. 

This family came together from several different states to celebrate the holidays together.  I was honored they asked me to do their portraits while everyone was in town! They wanted some more traditional-style portraits, so we did several groupings of posed family shots like this great big one of the whole fam ….

And this one of the parents with just the kids …

And of course I had to take a few candids cuz that’s just my thing!

Something about a grandpa and grandson that just makes my heart melt . . .

Patrice is the mom of the group and she was the one who rounded everyone up and coordinated the shoot.  So I just had to spend a few minutes at the end getting some individual head shots of her.  I think this should be on the back cover of her New York Times bestseller, don’t you?

We ended the session in her front yard, which as you can see is gorgeous!  Keep in mind that this was taken in December… when everyone else’s flowers are dead and long gone!  These flowers are her pride and joy so it made me happy to get this great picture of her with them.
