Last weekend I had a fun “Couples” session with Trevor (who you may recognize as one of my former High School Senior clients) and his gorgeous girlfriend Asante. As you can see, they are both huge football fans, and I mean huge! Trevor carried a portable TV along with us as we walked around Lake Las Vegas grabbing photos, just so he wouldn’t miss one second of last Saturday’s Alabama game. And somehow between plays we managed to get some really cute pics.
Here are some favs…

Her official name is “Snickers,” but we usually just call her cat, or kitty, or THE BEAST (lovingly, of course). We got her from the Humane Society a couple weeks back on a “trial basis,” because the poor thing was so terrified of other animals, and people too… we weren’t sure if she was going to adapt to our house or not. She spent almost her first whole week here cowering under Sarah’s bed, but soon after that she came out of her shell.
Now she spends most of her days sleeping and most of her nights running amuck, making all kinds of noise and being generally unruly and cute. She follows me around a lot and when she feels like it, she lets us pet her. Sarah is absolutely in love. The other day she asked if we could keep her and when I said we were going to, she was beside herself with joy. That makes all the cat-box-scooping worth it!

Welcome to the family, Snickers!

This is the 3rd time this year that I’ve had the chance to do a session with 4 generations all together at once… and I’ve loved them all! It’s been an honor to be asked to capture such a special (and sometimes rare) family moment.
With families living spread out all over the country, it sometimes seems too hard to gather everyone together for photos, but it’s SO worth it. And honestly, it’s probably not as hard as you think. One thing my family clients always say after our sessions are over is “Wow… that was easy!” And it really can be.
For one…. I bring my camera to you. So you don’t have to bring all 4 generations down to a studio and have all the kids sitting around, getting antsy in the lobby while you wait for your turn. Also, since my style is casual and relaxed, I don’t have everyone sitting in stiff, awkward poses for several minutes at a time while I fuss with my tripod and lighting. I work with natural light, and natural poses…. so everything flows naturally. (I have a whole ‘natural’ thing going on here, can you tell?)
Anyway…. I say all this not to toot my own horn by any means…. but to let you know family photos are NOT supposed to be torturous. They should be (and can be) easy and lots of fun. And afterwards, you will be so glad you have them! As we all know, life passes by way too fast! My grandparents and great grandparents have all passed on, and my family never had the chance to get everyone together to get photos of all of us at once. I really wish we could have done that.
But anyway!! On to the photos! Here are some of my favs ….

It’s been in the 80’s here the past week, so I haven’t felt much like getting into the Holiday Spirit, but a photo shoot with this cute little guy helped a lot….

Aren’t these little girls so adorable???
I’m almost done processing their whole family’s session, but I couldn’t wait to show a sneak peek of these 2 little cuties.
